Context
Vissi D'Arte Management is an international production house and management company for classical music based in London. The company represents world-class artists — opera singers, conductors, and instrumentalists — and organizes concerts, gala performances, and tours at prestigious world stages (Carnegie Hall, Royal Opera House, La Scala).
The task was to create a modern web platform that would:
- professionally present the artist roster with detailed profiles
- display upcoming and past concert events
- offer rich photo and video galleries with lightbox viewing
- enable simple content management through the WordPress admin panel
- reflect the prestige and elegance of a classical music management brand
- be fast enough and scalable for an international audience
What Wasn't Working
The existing WordPress website was conventional — it used a standard theme that did not match the organization's level of prestige:
- slow page loading due to unoptimized WordPress rendering (a full 5+ seconds for the homepage)
- the design did not convey the luxury identity of a classical music management brand
- content was unstructured — artists, events, and galleries had no clear navigation
- mobile display was primitive, unsuitable for an international audience
- lack of modern web standards — no lazy loading, no optimized images, no caching
- WordPress backend was difficult to manage — there were no custom fields for specific artist and event data
The international audience and classical music partners expect a digital experience that matches the world-class level of artists VDAM represents. The old website could not provide that.
What We Did
We developed a completely new web platform using headless WordPress architecture with a Nuxt 3 frontend, combining the flexibility of WordPress CMS with the speed and elegance of a modern JavaScript framework. The result is a professional web platform for classical music management that is fast, secure, and easy to manage.
1. Headless WordPress + Nuxt 3 Architecture
The headless WordPress approach means WordPress operates exclusively as a CMS (backend), while Nuxt 3 handles the frontend:
- WordPress backend — CMS with a control panel for entering and managing content about artists, events, and galleries
- Nuxt 3 frontend — fetches data via REST API and renders with server-side rendering (SSR)
- ISR (Incremental Static Regeneration) on Vercel — optimal balance between fresh content and ultra-fast loading speed
- Fully decoupled architecture — greater security, flexibility, and expandability without risk of CMS compromise
2. Server-Side Proxy with SWR Caching
Instead of the frontend directly calling the WordPress API, all requests pass through the Nuxt server:
- Nuxt server as proxy — all API calls to WordPress go through server routes (proxy), protecting WordPress from direct load
- SWR (stale-while-revalidate) caching — caches content and reduces WordPress server load
- Faster responses — users receive cached responses instantly while content updates in the background
- WordPress protection — the source database is protected from overload and abuse
3. Dark Luxury Theme with Gold Accents
The design is tailored to classical music management — prestige, elegance, and modernity in balance:
- Dark UI — elegant, sophisticated, reflects the brand's luxury and seriousness
- Gold accents — carefully placed to highlight important elements
- Sophisticated typography — selected fonts that evoke quality and tradition
- Visual balance — rich identity without overload, readable and accessible
4. Four Custom Post Types (CPT) for Content Structuring
Instead of one generic post type, we created specific content types for management needs:
- Artists — detailed artist profiles (biography, photos, discography, social links, agent contact)
- Events — concerts and gala performances (date, venue, program, price, ticket purchase link)
- Gallery — photo and video collections with lightbox display for each event or project
- Press — media articles, reviews, critiques, and press kit materials
Each CPT has custom fields in WordPress admin, enabling the VDAM team to enter content without technical knowledge. Simply — they open WordPress admin and fill in the fields for new artists or events.
5. Hero Carousel and Visual Elements
- Animated hero carousel on the homepage — rotates through the most important artists and upcoming events with smooth transitions
- Optimized images — all visual content converted to WebP format with lazy loading, ensuring fast loading even on slow connections
- Responsive design — perfect display on all screen sizes (mobile, tablet, desktop)
- Premium effects — elegant transitions and hover interactions that contribute to the luxury feel without congestion
6. Contact Form and Secure Integrations
- Reliable contact form — validation on frontend (instant checking) and backend (additional security)
- Spam protection — CSRF tokens and rate limiting ensure only legitimate requests reach the team
- Email notifications — the VDAM team is notified of every inquiry (booking requests, partners, media, etc.)
Technologies
- Nuxt 3 — Vue 3 framework with SSR and ISR support
- WordPress — headless CMS for content management
- Tailwind CSS — utility-first CSS framework for fast and consistent design
- Vercel — hosting with ISR caching and global CDN
- REST API — communication between WordPress and Nuxt frontend
- SWR caching — server-side proxy for optimal performance
What Changed
Before — old website (Mobile):

After — new website (Mobile):

After — new website (Desktop):

- Significantly faster loading — from 5+ seconds to under 1.5 seconds thanks to headless architecture and ISR caching on Vercel
- More elegant presentation — dark luxury theme with gold accents creates a true premium experience matching the brand level
- Simpler content management — the VDAM team uses the familiar WordPress admin panel without needing development
- Structured content — 4 different post types (artists, events, galleries, press) instead of generic WordPress structure
- Professional digital identity — the web platform now communicates the prestige and international level of the organization
- Scalability — the platform can be easily expanded with new sections or categories without technical limitations
What Is Now Possible
Vissi D'Arte Management can now:
- Quickly add new content — new artists, concerts, or galleries are entered through WordPress admin without technical help or waiting for a developer
- Elegantly present events — every concert (Carnegie Hall, Royal Opera House) has its own landing page with program, venue, ticket links
- Scale without degradation — ISR and SWR caching means the platform stays fast even with hundreds of events and galleries
- Centralize media communication — press materials, reviews, and media contacts are available in one place for journalists and partners
- Expand functionality flexibly — new features or sections (e.g., album shop, live stream events) can be added to the frontend without changing the CMS
